Still At It 07/29/2010
I guess I'm still at it. I'm currently doing things up. I have MangaStudio 4.0 which basically means I'm trying to make manga through computer. I've downloaded a fontmaker which basically helps me make fonts but I decided to make a cipher instead using that program. I've applied for a home-based job which I hope I'm lucky to get. And I'm selling books. Check my facebook account for it. Buy stuff now! I'm always sleepy. Even now. But I can't sleep. J'etc. 1 Comment It's Hardwork Being Lazy 04/17/2010
It is. It really is. You don't know when to stop and you're not driven to do whatever. Nothing happens to you but you don't get to do anything anyways so what the hell. Problem is, you couldn't enjoy the perks of doing something. You're always bored and you don't have anything to look forward to. You don't have any directions. I remember the Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland where Alice asks him which way she ought to go. He asks where she wants to go, she answers it doesn't matter. So damn it, it doesn't matter which way she goes. The thing with me is that I don't have any desire as of now to go. By the way, whoever said I'm not enjoying myself doing nothing? J'etc. Not the End. Just the Beginning. 03/29/2010
That's probably one of the most cliche phrase ever!
What the heck, I don't really care anymore these days. March is basically the month where everything academic is all going to an end. I only have one more thing to do and everything's a done deal for this semester. Right now, I've been hooked to this new game in Facebook called Kingdoms of Camelot. It's really fun and somewhat addictive. It's like Dominion from Kamikazee Games or Evony. It has graphics but they don't actually move. Anyway, just check the game. Backpedalling. I'm not sure if that's the right term to whatever I'm doing right now. All I know is that everything simply isn't falling into the right places. Perhaps the timing isn't right, that's what I'm telling myself to make me feel alright. Yes, I'm actually comforting myself. I decided to postpone my attempts in joining the workshop I mentioned in my previous posts. My reasons. Maybe I'm not yet prepared. I think I'm not. I still have tons of things to do to finish my semester right. So here goes... J'etc. No Drive 03/08/2010
Yey!
I recently passed a collection of what I think are my best ten poems to Prof. Ricardo de Ungria. I'm asking for his recommendation so I could send an application to this year's Dumaguete National Writers Workshop which happens to be the oldest writing workshop in all of Asia, spearheaded by poet Edith Tiempo and co. I really need this. Lately my oversized ego has been put to the test after hearing rather challenging comments from my professors. And lately, I haven't been doing well in my academics which actually makes me doubt about being in the Dean's List or even in the Honor Roll for this semester. I Got My New Co.CC Domain! 02/22/2010
I finally have my own domain. It's not really as impressive like the dot coms and the dot nets but it's a start. I've got it for a whole year and I'm not really sure how it works after the year but the wonderful thing is that it's free. Of course, there's nothing cheaper than free. http://jetcetera.co.cc The page still opens with my Weebly subdomain, so it's really no biggy if you open my blog either way. I'd also like to take this opportunity to introduce my other blog. It's way older perhaps more than a couple of years. Everything in it is written in a weird kind of Filipino. It doesn't have any capital letters and I'm taking on the identity of a turtle in that blog. I hope you like it: simpleng pagong blog ng pagong na simple Please feel free to drop by and put a comment or two. J'etc. Must Get Out Eventually 02/20/2010

It's been hectic.
Everybody seems to be running around in school and I'm pretty clueless as to what I'm suppose to do myself. I finished quizzes and I'm practically behind on one or two assignments. Happily, I still have time to write something in my blog now. Facebook has been a real breather for me. There's a lot of interesting applications out there but I like Zoo World and Cafe World more than anything else. Zoo World lets me manage my own miniature zoo and all. It's fun but I have to admit it gets a little boring sometimes. The graphics are cute though. I have a knack in collecting things so Zoo World tends to indulge me to collect different kinds of animals. And did I mention that the graphics are cute? Fiction Exam 01/30/2010
Just recently, I took my midterm exam in Fiction 2 under Prof. Timothy Montes. If you’re the type of person who constantly read collection of Filipino literature most likely on short story, I suppose you’ve perhaps stumbled across his works. But who reads literature these days except literary students and professors, eh?
The test was not really painful as people in my class would suggest but it was very much challenging. It sounds very appealing for first timers with his “open notes” policy where he’d let us scan through our hand-outs and notes and even outside references. We literally do our exam in the library without his supervision. The nature of the test however does not rely on how much notes you’ve got. It’s actually measuring how much you digested the things you’ve learned from the class and if you can eloquently write it in the standard UP bluebook. I’ve written hundreds of words reiterating everything I’ve learned. Darsi, my partner in crime, wrote triple my word count requiring another bluebook to fully capture his answer. What I appreciate in the exam is that it is also a learning process. I actually learn more about fiction as I’ve been writing in the exam. Papers, Paper and More Papers 01/26/2010
I've got a hectic week ahead.
One midterm exam for Fiction 2 which is divided into two parts to be answered on two separate meetings. The coverage for the first exam are the writing styles of the different writers of the more than fifteen novellas we're supposed to have read. The second exam covers a short novel and a textbook in fiction. I have two paper to pass. One is on Fil 20 and the other is on Philippine Literature in English. All reviews on this and that. Another ten poems for Poetry 2 due next week. Yes, I am one busy guy. | AuthorJet Cetera an open pseudonym for J. J. A. Tevar.
